CRT’s (Cucumber, Radish & Cherry Tomato Salad)

I attended a cooking class in France where the chef prepared an apero. He poured a chilled glass of French White Bordeaux and offered us a simple bite of cucumbers, radishes, and cherry tomatoes to accompany it. It was so refreshing! A CRT Salad is a perfect treat for guests, a romantic date or even an afternoon snack for your kids.


  • 1 container of grape or small cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 6 radishes, tops removed and cut into quarters
  • 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon fig, balsamic or red wine vinegar
  • 2 -3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1- 2 teaspoons salt (I prefer sea salt)
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons scallions, chopped


  1. Combine salt, pepper, vinegar and oil in the bottom of a small bowl.
  2. Add all the CRTs (cucumbers, radish and cherry tomatoes) and toss.
  3. Add additional salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Serve in a bowl with toothpicks on the side.
